We went to our first Shelbyville football game to watch Emily strut her stuff at halftime. Our niece, Emily, was one of the crown bearers for Homecoming so was introduced with with the Homecoming court at halftime. She looked adorable as usual!!! My kids had a great time at the game as well. Kailyn was running or hugging strangers the whole time. Lucas enjoyed watching all of the people and playing with Emily.

A little Behind
I have a lot of pictures to catch up on so here we go!! I have some cute pics and videos from some playtime at the park with daddy. Mark has had about a week off of work so we just enjoyed the outdoors and time together. We picked up some Roly Poly and headed to Rotary Park so they could show daddy some of their favorite things to play on at the playground. It was a fun afternoon.

St. Louis Bound
Mark and I are off in the morning to St. Louis for a couple of days. My parents are all settled in to take care of the kiddos for the next couple of days while we are gone. I made them a yummy meal tonight to butter them up for what is about to hit them at oh about 6:30 am. I did make a pretty delicious batch of tomatillo enchiladas with fresh tomatillo salsa for garnish or to just dip which chips. I had never used fresh tomatillos before so it was fun. Oh the things that are fun now!!! I also made homemade black rasberry cobbler that was pretty good as well. All of these recipes will of course be posted on our recipe blog!

Grandma Milnes Birthday Celebration
We celebrated Mark's mom's birthday Sunday afternoon at Chris's house. Mark worked so I was on my own for church and the birthday celebration. I wasn't sure I would make it until uncle Jeff and Grandma came to the rescue!! My kids quickly changed their tune after getting outside for some playtime! They both loved the trampoline!

Preschool Field Trip

Luke had his first field trip last Friday at the Children's Museum and Zoo in Decatur. The kids had so much fun!! Mark and Kailyn stayed home so Luke could have a day all to himself!! Luke's favorite thing at the museum was definitely the painting and at the zoo...the train!!! I stole all of these pictures from Ashley so I hope she doesn't mind.

Cowboy Sunday
Yeehaw! Yesterday was Cowboy Sunday at our church. They had pony rides, free food, horse roping demonstrations, etc. The kids had a lot of fun. Of course, our highlight were the ponies! Luke loved his pony rides and Kailyn loved to watch. She sat on one, but wasn't too crazy about it once the pony started to move. I was shocked when she didn't want to go for a ride. Oh well, next time!! She did enjoy the music so she could dance a little bit. They also LOVED playing on the bales of straw with Elle and Max.
Insanity
We just completed our third week of Insanity. It is a little crazy, but fun and fast. The workout are short right now, about 35 minutes. In my opinion, not as good as P90x. It is just a different workout. If you are looking for a calorie burner and pure cardio, Insanity is your ticket. P90x gives you more isolated muscle toning in addition to cardio. I actually think the perfect workout regimen would be the combination of the two programs.

Out of the Mouths of Babes
Kailyn has been pulling the "child proof" safety plugs out of the outlets. Then her helpful big brother will try to put it back in before we see what they are up to, nice! Mark caught them in the act and told Lucas to not do that because it could really hurt him. Of course, we get the "why??" from Lucas. Mark finally answered with, "Because it could kill you". Lucas, "well, then I would just go to heaven".
Lucas has been having his rest time (since he no longer takes naps) on the couch in the basement. I let him watch a movie if he lays down. Yesterday I asked him if he wanted a blanket to cover up with. Lucas, "no thank you, i'm covered with God.

Sleepy Boy
My Little Chefs
The kids love to help me in the kitchen. Lucas is getting to be a big help with stirring, adding ingredients, and taste tester. Kailyn likes to reorgaize my pots and pans while we are cooking. The other day we all put our aprons on to make ourselves a special treat, rice krispie treats. Many marshmallows were consumed during the cooking process!
Play time
Jackson came over to play last week while Amy ran some salads that we made up to the church. My kids love playing with Jackson so were very excited. Kailyn woke up just after he arrived and immediately started saying "Jackson, Jackson, ..." while kicking her legs with excitment. In the short time he was here the boys went potty (together) four times. I, of course, supervised the bathroom visits (specifically the hand washing). They vroomed cars, started a movie, tortured Gabby, and had a snack.
Dancing, Dancing, Dancing
We have recently found a new hobby - dancing! Luke is currently our star, but Kailyn is starting to collect some moves of her own.

More preschool
Lucas is attending Cherry Hills Preschool twice a week. His first day went really well. He walked right into his classroom, washed his hands, hung up his name tag, and sat on the rug, and then said see ya later mom! Kailyn thought she was ready for school too! She just sat right down at one of the little chairs and helped herself to a puzzle. Lucas had a good day. Mrs. Hart said that he listens and follows instructions very well!! He said that his favorite part was playing!!
