Texas Trip

I will have a couple posts about our fantastic trip to Houston. I was a little concernd before we left when Lucas said that his knees were broken and he couldn't walk (we only packed a single stroller for Kailyn). He did great though - walking through the airport, etc. We had so much fun Bobo, Pappy, Kristin, Katelyn, Chris, and Janice. We spent a lot of time in the pool because the kids enjoy it sooo much! We also went to the Houston Zoo, Kemah boardwalk, and Galveston. The kids did great (Mark did pretty well too). We have so many pictures and videos that I will only post a few of my favorites from the trip and then put the rest in a slideshow on the side.
Kailyn started saying several more words while we were in Houston. We heard "cat" frequently as she chased Jack and Eddie through the house. She also said milk, water, cookie, gone, Bobo, Pappy, plane. Those are some that I can think of off the top of my head. She is doing really well (I think). So Kailyn LOVED the water!!! She loved to jump in, swim under water, and being tossed in the air. She was fun to watch. She also had no fear in the ocean. She just walked those chubby legs down the beach and into the water until a wave would knock her on her back and roll her a couple of times. The first time (yes it happened several times) I thought she would come up crying, but no our little sis was giggling the whole time. She had sand matted into her hair and kept going out for more smiling the whole time. Lucas also loves the water - he was running and jumping into the pool by the end of the week. The pool was his favorite part of our trip. I think we will be spending our days at the pool this summer!!! On to Lucas - so proud of my big boy wearing big boy underwear the whole time!! He did AWESOME!

Mater Teeth

Lucas has solely been wearing big boy underwear for one week now (nap and bedtime too) and has had zero accidents. He has been wearing during the day for weeks. This week he went into the bathroom and went by himself (without any assistance). I was so proud of him that I rewarded him with a lollipop that was Mater teeth. He loved it!!

God Bless Texas

Yay - we leave for Texas in just a few days!! We have so many places we want to go that I hope we can squeeze it all in (mostly restaurants - ha ha). The kids are so excited to spend some time with Bobo and Pappy! We also get to see my Bff, Kristin! Katelyn and KC are going to be best buds (they really have no choice). I'm so excited to get some pics of the girls together.
Please pray for safe travels for us to and from and that I can avoid FIRE ANTS! My dad always does a good job of checking the yard before I arrive. For those of you who don't know, those little demons sent me to the ER while I was in college!! Anaphylactic reaction! Have you seen Hitch?? Uh,that was me!!

A Few Lucasims

Lucas was throwing a ball in the basement, chasing, and throwing it again over and over. Lucas, "NICE THROW LUCAS!" pause "THANK YOU". It was hysterical! We were at Sam's yesterday and Lucas said, "I want one of those big pinecones". I turned around to see a display of pineapples. When he rides on the tractor with Grandpa they say, "We feel the need, the need for speed!".

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day thanks to my amazing husband. The celebration started on Saturday night when I was showered with gifts- Beth Moore book (kept asking for), 2 worship cd's (that he put on my ipod that night), and a kodak mini video camera thingy!! Now I can post video on the blog - yay!! Hmmm... now I need to start thinking about Father's Day gifts. Would remodeling the bathrooms count?? He does use them!!

Very few

I've noticed there are very few pictures of myself these days since I am behind the camera. Doris sent me this picture from Rosemarie's birthday party and I really like it.

The guests at the dinner Par - tay!

Happy Birthday Rosemarie!

One of my dearest friends turned 50! What do I say about Rosemarie? She has been there for us through so much, well everything. I met Larry and Rosemarie very soon aftr meeting Mark (they were part of the package). I would not want it any other way! It is so freakishly awesome how similar Larry (bro) and I are and then Mark and Rosemarie (the two weird ones). Rosemarie has been there through the wedding, 2 children, illnesses, surgeries, or just a bad day. She always seems to show up with a meal for us at the perfect time. I will never forget driving home from the airport after an exhausting trip and long day of travel with the kiddos thinking what on earth are we going to eat for dinner? Mark and I much prefer eating at home so fast food sounded less than ideal. Well, Rosemarie called while we were driving home to say she was going to have a hot pot of pasta waiting on our back porch when we got home. I could have cried I was so relieved!!! She is AMAZING!! I love that we can talk about the craziest things together (you know what i'm talking about r2r). I could ramble on and on about Larry and Rosemarie, but will conclude with a simple Happy Birthday and we love you! By the way, we had a surprise birthday dinner for her last Thursday night at Jimmy Oh's - so fun!! I'm sure there will be many more posts about these two in the future.

SWAGGER WAGON

SOAKED and LOVIN IT

My kids LOVE playing in the water. The past few days they have been soaking themselves withe hose and playing in the water table. I don't know what it is about playing in the water, but they take great naps (rest times for Lucas). No fussing and momma is loving it. Some of these pictures are hysterical of KC getting chased down by big brother. They BOTH enjoyed it.

Kailyn's favorite animal were the ducks.

ZOO DAY

I've been so anxious to go to the Springfield Zoo this spring and we finally got a chance to go with some friends. We had a great time! The three girls were all matching in their zebra print (not planned), but so cute. On our way home from the zoo I asked Lucas what his favorite animal as and his response was, "the lion"! For those of you who have been to the Springfield Zoo you know that there are no lions. Hmmm... After I responded with, "but we did not see any lions today". Lucas, "well....I LIKE THEM!" Thankfully we will be going to the zoo in Houston when we visit Bobo and Pappy and I'm sure we will see some lions since he apparently likes them so much. Side note -Lucas sometimes wants me to check outside his window before he goes to bed at night to make sure there are no lions out there.

Play date

Kailyn had a play date last Saturday with Ethan, Maddy, and Parker. She loved playing with Ethan's toys and exploring his new house.
