Kailynisms

Now this girl can talk! She doesn't say much around people she doesn't know well, but get to know her and...well....just get to know her!
She went through a time where she ended everything she said with "all the time"
for example
I chew my food all the time
or
I get dressed all the time
you get the idea, right?
It definitely made me chuckle!
Lately she has been asking for chocolate and candy
just like her father
ok
ok
too many of you know Mark or better yet know me!
that may have been a small fib
Kailyn always (ok most of time) wants to make sure Luke is ok
if he is crying (which never happens)
she will come over and say, "you ok lucas" while rubbing his back
PRECIOUS!
WHAT! Another frequent Kailyn saying
For instance, me: "you can't have any candy tonight"
Kailyn would maybe respond with a "WHAT"
Ok, the next Kailynism has to do with poopy so if this grosses you out
STOP READING HERE

I knew you wouldn't be able to resist
When changing a poopy diaper
Kailyn often says,
"Don't eat that mommy, that would be yucky"
Ok, just for the record
I have never done, thought of, or
even dreamed of doing this nor has anyone else in our family
So
I cannot explain why she says this!
Gross I know, but also kind of funny
Had to post to keep it on record
By the way
Can you believe she will be two this week!!

Better?

Ok, my latest project was the light fixture in our entryway. It was shiny gold with decorative glass - yuck! sorry, for those who may like that sort of thing, but just not my taste. So, with a $5 can of spray paint it now has a new look. oh, and I did not put the glass back in!

Can I Get a Little Woot Woot!

Can I eat this snow mommy?
WEEEEE

Say Cheese

Yes, she took her shoes off and refused to put them back on!

We are LOVING this wonderful weather! The kids have been playing outside the past few afternoons and it has been great! They love it, I love it, Gabby loves it, less fighting, less whining....Wahoo! I know we are bound to have more cold weather here, but I see a light at the end of the dark, dark winter tunnel! They have been talking all day about swimming - their most favorite thing to do (so thankful they BOTH love it). They walked over the pool to check it out and were a little bummed that there was still no water, but soon my loves, very soon! Then it was on to talk about Pappy's boat. Kailyn found her life jacket, put it on, and said, "ok, i'm ready to go to Pappy's boat now". We are beyond excited for warmer weather, pool time next door, and the lake!!! The lake is definitely our favorite place to go together! So, tonight as I'm fading off into a wonderful sleep I will be dreaming about Lake Shelbyville and the wonderful memories we have had and the even more we will create!!

Playdate with the Paoni Kids

Dominic and Gwyneth came over to play this morning! I hope there will be many more playdates to come! Those kids are so fun and cute!

King of the Hill

Wahoo for 60 degree weather in February! Luke was beyond excited to get outside for the afternoon. I'm not exaggerating when I say he stood on this snow pile for an hour just yelling his little heart out! He played in mud, threw snow, stomped in the mud, made a "castle" with sticks. It was great watching him have so much fun!

Pajama Day!

Luke had Pajama day at school on Tuesday! He was so excited to sport his superman jammies in front of his friends! Then, of course, I have some pics of Little Miss! She has been a little ham in front of the camera lately and Luke runs and hides so that is why my pictures seem a little lopsided!

the lego tower he built for me!
What?! They are BOTH looking at me?

SUPERMAN!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Puffed pancakes cut into heart shapes with strawberries for breakfast
Valentine lunch at Luke's preschool with friends
lemon pepper chicken, pink mashed potatoes, and strawberry salad for dinner
chocolate truffles for dessert
YES, Valentine's Day is all about the food in our house!
SO STUFFED!
The kids had a great time today with all of the festivities. They were so excited about the cards they received in the mail from Granny, Grandma and Grandpa, and Bobo and Pappy! Thank you so much for thinking of us!
Audrey and Kailyn at Valentine lunch
Valentine Luke made at church on Sunday - made me giggle!

I could not get one of both of them looking at me smiling!

her mouth is covered in red/pink sprinkles!

What I have learned...

As a stay-at-home mom
Try to have schedule to your days (most)
Playdates, Playdates, Playdates
You will be more productive if you :
1. shower
2. put on a cute outfit
3. makeup and some sort of hairstyle
Believe me there are many occasions for sweats - sick momma, sick kids, snow days!
ok, now that it is 11:30 am and i am still in my pj's and so are my kids maybe i should get showered and dressed!

Luke's Valentine's Party

Luke's Valentine's party was so much fun! I think he got more stuff at this party than at Christmas! I was blown away with all of the candy, prizes, and goodies we took home! Kailyn even got to join the festivities and she felt pretty special. She got to have snack with Luke and his friends, play games, and get stamps (probably the best part for her). She couldn't stop smiling when Luke's friends, Jackson and Audrey had Valentine's for her too! Luke was so excited to get home and open up all of his cards and check out his candy. He has been asking me for candy for the past 24 hours! I'm not going to lie, that is getting annoying. Is it wrong to secretly throw some of it away or send it to work with Mark when he is not looking? I think the overload of candy came from the stuff I bought for treat bags and our Valentine's! Oh well, it is all fun even if my kids were in a sugar coma yesterday and slightly crabby when coming off of their high.

playing games and picking out prizes

Miss Diva wore her sunglasses during the party

Luke will you smile for me, "NOPE". ok then

checking out their goodies
