The Ville

One of our most favorite places to go is Lake Shelbyville!
We all love it, including the dog!
While we were packing today Kailyn said, "I want to stay on Pappy's boat FOREVER".
Anyone who knows Miss Sass can picture the dramatics in her tone.

Our BFF's, Larry and Mosie joined us for the weekend. We had to postpone the Britton fam due to weather. It was Fa-REEZING and rainy.
We did a lot of fishing which Luke loved, some swimming (they lasted about 20 minutes total for the weekend), saw Cars 2, a lot of eating, and even more laughing.
Perfect Weekend

Yes I did...

Pj's and snow boots - woohoo!
there are the rain boots once again!

YES I DID...
Have big plans this summer to
take adventure walks every morning with the kids and Gabby.
It's ok to laugh
We did have a great start....well...we went on one walk weeks ago!

Yes I did plan on days like this:
wake up
play time
swimming
naps/rest
crafts/painting/coloring
dinner preparation
family together time

This is how my mornings have turned out (and this is just the morning)
wake up to sweet kisses from my 2 year old...followed by whining for her milk
next step is getting the coffee going
usually the kids are already sneaking out the doggie door to play outside in their pj's
IF they have any shoes on at all is is ALWAYS rain boots for Luke and snow boots for KC
Next comes scolding them for picking flowers
followed by more scolding and timeouts for turning the hose on each other
ok...finally getting my coffee poured and...
Kailyn is scaling the dog food container to get to the hutch to reach the sidewalk chalk
on the very tip top AND
she gets it successfully!
one sip of coffee in and I see them coloring each other
with chalk and KC might even try to taste it or use it has lipgloss
regardless, she will have it all over her mouth and face.

you know what?? they are having fun and I'm enjoying it
even if my big plans have gone down the tube
we have done a lot of swimming in the mix

shhh.....sometimes (most of the time) I let them play in the hose
and I let Kailyn wear snow boots with a tutu and a pj top.
Luke wears his batman t-shirt nearly everyday (well every other... i do wash it)

Yes I did
put on a cute dress to run errrands today
I even put on make-up
I was feeling pretty good about myself
I made it to TJ Maxx (my favorite)
and then to Sam's
when I got home I look down to see this

did i just really go out with two different shoes on? and not notice until i got home?
YES I DID

yup, she is playing on the back porch in her pj's and a life jacket upside down
you can never be too safe!

Church Time

are you kidding me? KC's boots are the cutest!

A few cute pictures before church! None of Luke this time, he wasn't in the mood for another photo shoot!

Fun Weekend!!

Very important bug collecting

more bug inspection
Emmy and Luke's cute feet

We had a fun weekend with my sister and the girls! My kids adore Aunt Marney, Allison, and Emily!
I cherish those times we share together!
It is heartwarming to see your kids playing and loving on their cousins!
My favorite part of the entire weekend was Saturday night - beautiful weather, thai food on the patio, kids hyper and goofy, kids playing with bugs, good conversation with my hubby and sister!
Can't wait to make more memories with the family!

Thunderstorms!

We have had several thunderstorms in the past few weeks! The kids absolutely love it!
They would be outside playing in the rain with the lightening and thunder all around them
if I would let them! We got some pretty large hail the other day and the kids could not contain their excitement over the "ice balls"!

Slow Down Summer

I know summer just started, but I can already feel it slipping through my fingers! We had a rocky start with illnesses sweeping through our family, but we still pushed through.
We have already been to the lake twice and several trips to the pool.
The kids just finished their first week of swim lessons and did awesome!!
Luke is a pro at swimming under water and is now working on his breast stroke and back stroke.
Kailyn is also doing a great job learning the same strokes as her older brother.
She prefers to be jumping in, swimming underwater, or diving for sticks/toys (her favorite). I call
her our little bottom dweller since she spends so much time at the bottom of the pool collecting
dive toys. Most of the time I just see her little feet sticking out of the water as she goes diving.
So proud of my little swimmers!
Can't wait to see what they do next week!
